hi all, thanks for the encouragement. I posted pictures under - build & mods, modern build logs, other modern, type 16 tank.
I have cut the parts from 4.5mm pvc sheet, often had to change the parts cause they didn't work 😒. to get the differentials to work was a mission, even now I want to change them at some point because there has to be a better way of doing them. I need to spend some time doing research. but for now I'm enjoying making look something like a type 16😊.
going to bore you with a bit of my history....I was born in the UK, as a child we moved to South Africa (I'm now back in the UK) I had to do national service, which is where my passion for anything military started. I wanted to build the SADF Rooikat tank, but couldn't find a kit for that. So the type 16 it was. my next build i want to do a tracked tank. what tank I've no idea yet

You're right, many RCTW folks are good at encouragement. Addicts like other addicts. I am watching your "Type 16." I recall my first, very simple "build" of a 3D printed Jeep. My first smooth move was to blow out the receiver because I didn't know I needed a BEK. I :haha: when it happened. Everyone around me in the modeling basement :haha: when it happened. Then I posted on RCTW, so I learned about what I needed. It was an inexpensive lesson, and a lot of fun. I still treasure that simple Jeep build.

The suggestion of a Rooikat has been brought up to Inkor to design, but he hates doing wheeled vehicles for probably all the reasons you stated about the drivetrain. :)

Will blueprints do?
