Since the speaker is located right beneath the turret, I'm hoping enough sound will make it out of the open hatches on top... I really only need to help the high frequencies escape the tank body, since the mids & lows will penetrate it enough. Sound will also emanate from the fan & radiator grills in the back (where smaller speakers are usually located), and I can always open the hatches up front as well if it still sounds too 'muffled'. If necessary, I'll wire a tweeter in series & put it right beneath one of the grills.

Coleman - yes I'm definitely going to turn it up to 11 :)

Martin - nice PzIV... I like the matte finish on it... I'll need to 'weather' this shiny Tiger for sure

Here's a better shot of the sealed gear box inside... I'd rather not unseal it or otherwise alter it, since 1:12 gear sets are not so readily available!

Another view of the sealed gearboxes... with clipped wires, which originally ran to a simple two-way switch directly under the engine hatch. Note the cavernous interior which was just begging for a gigantic speaker! Now, where to find a 1:12 turret ring?

From the number of screw standoffs, that top would not be falling off anytime soon!

Mike.

No kidding! I was thinking of converting to a 'magnet closure' system to avoid straining my wrist ;)
