I think weve all done it to a lesser or greater scale
Was wiring up a set of small bulbs for a ship model i was doing
finished it a nd switched em on and 1 light wasnt working
found the loose wire and with a qhuick dab of soldering iron i tapped the wire on
Errr was wrong place and 1st time Ive saw 0.5 mm wire glow incandescant
luckilly it was just wiring that needed replacing and the livingroom windows opened to let smoke out

If you want to do lenses and stuff you could try the Tamiya h parts should give you all the lenses and vision blocks whether they fit or not is another question
