ok, so this stl was intended as a table top wargaming mini? Or is it supposed to be 1/35?
Do you still have a link to the place you got it from?

As an example; if you started with a 1/35th plan and were shooting for 16th everything needs to be printed at + 218%.

This does assume that you know what scale the original file was supposed to be, but you can measure the imported mesh and try to figure it out from there if you don't mind a little inaccuracy...

SO I know (or at least am pretty sure I know) that the model I have is 1/1 and I plan to make the tank into an rc

So in that case import the mesh and reduce the scale by 1/16, but I would suggest that its more likely 1/35 or 1/48 based on the size of your foamboard mock up?
What does the mesh measure across the fenders?

Do some reading in:
viewforum.php?f=128. Excellent use of smaller scale workings by modler. If the P40 is simular height and width surprisingly" you might get by with other 16th running gear.
16th is sixteen times smaller than 1:1 as I'm sure you know. Tiger6 has a much better grip on " measure the imported mesh" than I (personally I think he is speaking Greek or ancient Egyptian (while writing in cuneiform) to us mere mortals)!

Simply select the inspect tool, and click 2 points on the model that you wish to measure between:

ooo thank you I have been useing the measure tool but I did not know that you could convert the entire model down to the scale you want!

Alright so I did a little bit of googling (and half a month of nothing) I "Think' I know what to do, I will give up on trying to do simple math and go the more complicated route: copy the panzer IV and edit it to my specifications. From my research I found that the panzer IV and the P40 share characteristics in size and turret cheek/mantlet, so what I'll do is find a 1/16 Panzer IV (which I bet is definitely out there) and measure the P40 the best I can.
