Nice job! I always wanted one. There is no Nashorn model to print in 3D. If you sell the files, it will be a guaranteed success (I myself will be one of the first to buy it).

keep it up!

Thanks Edumardo, once completed the files will be for sale. The body is almost complete and I just need to tidy up the gun files to make them easier to print and assemble.

More progress
Printed the gun barrel

Glued together with 4mm brass tube in the centre for strength

Printed the components for the support cradle and carraige

I suddenly realised I'd printed the wrong version of the gun support so quick redesign and reprint :{ :/
Assembled

and temporarily positioned on the body

Still lots of parts to print for the gun

I looked back at my first build for reference on a couple of things and couldn't believe how bad the quality of the 3d prints were!! In those days I was using an early Prusa model which quite frankly was rubbish, and I very quickly upgraded to a Creality CR-10 and never looked back

Fittings for the gun, left and right control wheels

The barrel is very heavy so spring dampers are needed
Image

The barrel is now well sprung, the addition of the elevation servo will enable easy elevation control of the barrel

Next will be all the gun barrel fittings

The gun is now complete and assembled including gunsight, barrel accessories, gunner protector, and barrel damper

The only missing element is the gunner seat but I'm still deciding whether to use brass rod for the support or print a rod. The seat is already designed so just the rod needed.
Next will come the chassis components such as return rollers and road wheels, I have sent off to Germany for the suspension parts but I will print my own road wheels (much cheaper!).

Progress on the chassis
Designed, printed and fitted platforms for the motors

Thanks to Forgebear I have sprockets and tensioner for a panzer 3 (this is what was fitted to the Nashorn)

Designed, printed and fitted the return rollers

The next task will be the road wheels and the design work is done, I'm just waiting for the suspension to arrive from Germany.

While waiting for the suspension, I decided to start on the cab fittings beginning with the ammo lockers
cabinet complete with 1 shell

and in the cab

In my first build this was done with styrene pieces and printed hinges but that was an absolute pain to assemble, now it's all 3d printed including the ammo shelves which are printed separately and glued together.
