Thanks for the kind comments. The project has taken a slight break due to going on holiday for a couple of weeks followed immediately by I don't know yet, how many weeks of jury service! Normal service will be resumed as soon as possible.

I recieved 100 laser cut blanks to make the tracks

Each link will require several machining operations. This is the first.
I had to make a drill jig to drill for the connecting pins

I had to make a machining fixture for my lathe to hold the link and an arbor to hold the milling cutters so that I could mill the end slots.

These will be the track guides. I had them cut in pairs. when they are made they will be seperated.
They will be welded to every other track link
Here I am milling the taper on both sides of each guide.
