I found this video showing how to modify the asiatam recoil for open-panzer. Is this the same thing you all are describing?

No it's different than the TK7.0
below is for the 6.0 so check your connections into the board should be the same but check to be sure. You also can't use the taigen 360 unit as it shares wires where the 6 and 7 don't

remove the white and the blue wire that goes to the switch on the taigen turret take the wires from the 3 pin plug pop the pins out and put the 2 wire from the elevation motor (on the right) into a 2 pin plug this plugs into cn4 black on the left red on the right.

For the recoil motor (on the left) you will need to add another red wire and put those 2 wire into anther 2 pin plug and plugs into cn10 the black wire will be at the bottom towards the middle of the board and the red wire will be at the top. the yellow wire with the black wire is another earth so make sure you get the connections the right way round when plugging into the board.

The large red or black wire that connects to the microswitch with the yellow wire will need to connect to the battery negative/black wire not the on/off switch as the on/off switch is 2 live wires.

Will do. I'm slowly playing with the 7.0 kit I received from Toucan, plugging and playing to see what works and doesn't work before working on the tank itself. I got the "Open Fire" flash and smoke working. I'd love to retain the Taigen Strobe flash but am thinking it won't work and definitely won't be plug and play.

I assume you mean the 360 degree wiring harness? Which yes I've gotten the Heng Long harness in anticipation. The turret rotation motor seems plug and play.

Big ups to John 1970, Jofaur86 and Meter Rat for your advice and help. I just completed this mod and it does in fact work well connected to the Heng Long TK 7.0.
