MonsieurTox: I agree with you about the Schürzen. The center section, especially, seems a bit too tall. Nonetheless, your five-year-old sure is lucky! Wow!

Nice conversion, especially the idler wheel. I have always wanted to replace the smaller idler wheels that come with the Heng Long kits!!!

clean neat building, beautiful model, sometimes I feel like leaving some in that basic color, it looks great ..

Thank you very much guys !
The Heller parts are a big improvment and I'm very happy the way it turned out.

Here are some pics where I am with it right now.
I have to do some more weathering, chipping, adding some details (hub caps, showel, track pins on the spare wheel), maybe some stuff to make the rear deck busy.
I just received the Heller Panzer III. An amazing kit. 2 upper hulls, options for an M, J, L.
I think Im going to use the Heller kit chassis this time, it's much thicker and tougher than the Heng Long chassis and everything will go to the right place without having to move everything to their correct place.
Im aslo going to use the plastic suspension arm and plastic torsion bars for the suspension. They probably won't last 40 years but they will work. If they break, I have a full spare set from the STUG
and if they break again, I'll replace them with metal torsion bars. However I'm not battling with my tank so it should work fine. I did some proto with ball bearing in the wheel and that works great.
Thanks for watching !

Another great improvment over the HL is the barrel brackets, a very visible detail from the top, no need for tarp to hide that ugly area of the HL !

What a wonderful build and paint job. Inspires me to finally take off the shelf a set that has been dusting there for months. Can you take a picture from the bottom of the upper hull?

Thank you very much for your kind words Kaczor ! I encourage you to start yours, it's been a breeze to build.Kaczor wrote:What a wonderful build and paint job. Here are some pics of the internals (I'm sorry, I havent done a clean installation of the electronics, it's a bit messy

For the elevation, I milled a channel into a machined acrylic part so the HL elevation unit can slide into that slot.
The roof can be removed

Thank you
Great idea with the roof. Did you left hatches openable?
