Yeah.....
That didn't work out.
Bought a product designed specifically for models called
CLEAN SLATE.
Well it went straight through the paint and then started to eat away at the plastic. Not completely melted but eroded edges enough that there was no saving the turret I was working on.
Anyone got a ztz99 turret for sale

Check heng long's store on AliExpress. That's the name of the seller.

Ok, so the stuff that's supposed to be safe for models melted the turret.
The Mr muscle oven cleaner isn't having any effect what so ever!
Been on all day. Not a sign of anything lifting.

Out of curiosity, what paint are you trying to remove? Is it the Heng Long factory paint?

I have had good results with Acrylic Thinners,
DONT use Tamiyas Thinners, It is far too expensive,
I use "Servisol Electronic Cleaning Solvent" (Isopropanol Alcohol) in a I litre can which is far cheaper,
Apply with a lint free tissue and rub the paint off, Not too much thinners at a time,
Then sponge the thinners off with cold water.

Hiya. Its not the factory paint for sure. Someone did a digital camo on this tank and it's like a thick enamel almost gloss. Under that is a satin green. It's super thick in places.

Oh, that's not good. Maybe it's time to try brake fluid on the turret. I'm guessing the hull is the same. Probably easier to get another tank, unless this one has all the upgrades, and aftermarket chassis etc.

When questioned by Mrs Rocket as to why another tanks just rocked up I'll point her your way....
