I’m not sure but I don’t see why it wouldn’t work. These little LEDs don’t require much juice. I didn’t have a small enough connector to use in my tail light socket so I’ve temporarily plugged the light into the smoker socket (no smoker hooked up yet). Now I can turn the convoy light on and off with the transmitter’s smoker switch. Kind of cool.

Jimster Hi, I have just got my Convoy light from ----
http://www.rctank.de/
I was a bit surprised at just how many small parts are included,
Do you have any tips on the assembly of the unit because I have no idea where to begin

If it is not too challenging I can see me buying half a dozen more units for the early Tiger 1 and the platoon of Panzer 4s in the collection.

Good morning. jarndice. It was fairly straight forward. First I used a small drill bit to open the little holes on the back plate to allow the two SMD wires to pass through. Then I used the back plate as a template to drill two corresponding holes in the rear hull plate. I cleaned the parts and filed everything smooth and painted the parts. I did not use the little mounting bracket. Then I fed the wires through the back plate and glued the SMD to the inside of the back plate. While that dried I cut the green lense material into two small strips just barely big enough to cover the 4 openings and used white glue to secure. Leave room around the outer edges so that the cover plate will sit down properly. I used CA glue to secure the front onto the back and fed the wires through the drilled holes on the rear end and super glued the assembly in place. Then I hooked up the wires and resistor to a plug using the smoker socket for power. Now I can turn it on or off with my smoker button! Pretty easy kit. Good luck. I also removed the little red reflector as the very first few initial Tigers didn’t have them.

Do they come disassembled? I bought one from them recently and was ready to install.

Looks like this. Not shown is the green film that you cut to fit in behind the rectangular openings.

Oh it's that one. I had a different one. Is this tiger 1? Which period?

That's what prompted my question of Jimster as I was expecting a fully assembled item,
Thank goodness for upright members of this Forum coming to the rescue.

I assume you were talking about the later cylindrical convoy lamp.

Yes, it’s a Tiger 1 built in the early summer of 1942. At least that’s my modeling attempt.
