It simply fits in the locations for the two round tips for the airsoft mechanism sit. The rear arm rests on the cam for the stock elevation gearbox and goes up and down or you can adapt for servo elevation too.

Here's a Sherman barrel in action via another builder. I usually thread a small led light through the gun barrel and attach to the appropriate spot on the Clark board.

Would the gun need to be modified in order to work with the unit?

I'm sure everyone has a way to do it, but I usually take a piece of airsoft tube as it's made to fit the barrel nicely and then very carefully fit a proper length of the modified tube into the Clark unit. Make sure the hole in the recoil housing is clear and do not force the tube into the 3D printed part or you can break it. Also remove all burrs and extra plastic flashing so the new recoil moves freely or you can burn out a servo.

Hello,
Yes it's better to leave the fuse in case of short circuit installation

What type of fuse please? I'm guessing not the type that's in a UK 240 volt plug. And there is so many various types of fuses.

I use 10a car fuse, you can buy pre wired fuse holders and solder in
