No I agree, one of the down sides of using the car esc, but in a big tank like my E90 or my jagdtiger it shouldn't be an issue. .. Hmm.. I'd almost decided on trying the Elmod, as it's one of the premium- if not the premium- aftermarket boards. You've just thrown a 'spaniard in the works' with that one (to quote John Lennon..)If it helps the tcb board and ESC are on offer, I think you're looking at £130 from the whole lot with a benedini, certainly comes in cheaper than any of the premium boards (tk60, ibu3 elmod) by a fair margin.43rdRecceReg wrote:Fantastics sounds, Tom! Watch the tank from standstill, if the engine sound starts before the tank moves, then the trim is off.
Slowly push the throttle up.
Tank still not moving?
Hold the stick at the point just before where the tank starts to move.
Push the throttle trim up gradually just to the point where the tank moves.
Now drop the stick back to centre.
Push it up again and the tank should just move when the stick is touched.
You can fine tune the trim from this point.
The whine usually appears when the throttle stick is activated but the motors aren't yet receiving enough power from a board. By adjusting the stick/trim the board gets the signal to send power to the motors as soon as the stick is touched. My Clark boards and Flysky tx always have to be set up this way. Might help someone!
