Some more progress on the Nashorn, running gears all sorted (despite one interim plastic track). My servos came today from hobbyking. I got her with 4.3g plastic servos which from the recoil at least wasn't up to my clumsy driving. Hobbyking had a slightly deeper metal gear servo with 3x the torque so ordered a couple and so far installed one on the recoil which seems to be much more sturdy now and some tweaks to the elevation and connected up the traverse. All working nicely now. Made a start mapping out the lower hull fit out. Managed to just squeeze one of Robert Tanzer s excellent speaker boxes in, it'll be accompanied by a tk24. I might need a small lipo for this one but we shall see.
For the running gear I've added taigen Panzer iii sprockets and idlers, 4 shaft black steel gearboxes and the taigen close pin tracks. I run this on my brumbar and it handled the grass without missing a beat s this should be no different. ImageImageImageImageImage

Work on the Nashorn continues. Next step has been installing the hidden battle unit and starting to tidy the wiring so everything fits together ok. I still need a solution for the rear sensorImageImageImageImageImage

Hi Tom, how about fitting the barrel cleaning rods on the back and having the sensor peep between a couple as if they have been clumsily put in the rack?

I just love the look of the Nashorn. The level of detail is outstanding in this conversion. This is the tank I am aiming to build once I gain a few more hints tips a d scale detailing skills

Another option for the rear sensor is the tow bar (maybe too low?) Or put a step below the barrel cleaning rods where the upper and lower hulls meet an put the sensor under it?

Hey folks, solve my battle system issues, the rear sensors gone under the rear left fender. Not perfect but should be less noticeable than the other options. Hit LEDs required some creative thinking, to which end ones inside the fighting compartment but being open top highly visible. Just need the emitter in now, and she's a Bonne fide battler!
