Ok here goes.
1: The battle system from RCCommand is not complete out of the box. An additional 3 plug to 3 plug lead is required to connect to either the battle board to the RX18 or the battle board to the Receiver.

2: the song button lead on both my systems had the white wire hanging free and unconnected. An email confirmed that this was actually supposed to be soldered to ground. No mention of that in the instructional pictures.

3: Connect white wire from the sound board to the orange wire, pin 8, on the 8 pin connector on the RX18. It now transpires that actually pin 8 is the red wire at the opposite end of the connector. Now duly resoldered to no effect !!

4: Connect orange wire from the sound board to pin 3 on the volume control. Err any guesses ? A further email confirmed where this wire should be connected. Again no mention of this in the instructions/pictures.

5: All duly plugged/soldered and ready to go. Resistor 22 starts to fry. A character called Bubbajoex tells me in no uncertain terms that I'm short circuiting the system. Ok, change the battle board for my spare and change the IR emitter. Guess what, resistor 22 smoking a lot. No sound and no function.

6: When I remove this supposed "plug and play" system my Heng long Stug with an RX18 board it functions perfectly as an Heng Long tank.

7: Not impressed at all.

This is the first time I have seen an up close picture of this.  No offense, but the schemetic design looks exactly like Darkiths DBC with a voltage regulator added??????   I don't know how much you are involved in this bubbajoe, but is Darkith involved in this project?? The resemblence of these boards to a Darkith Board is uncanny.

Hi Lets get down to basics here resistor r22 is burning up .Nick says he plugged it in andit started to burn ,Bubbajoexx says only the I.R. emmitter shorting could burn the resistor ,Its not posible to burn this resistor untill the battle unit is fully running the only time it has power is when it fires I.R. Is this correct ? Bubbajoexx.

Suggest that if it is burning as soon as its switched on there is something wrong somewhere on the boards Because r22 is only powerd when it fires I.R. Nick is it posible to see some photos of the installed wiring to see if there is any thing wrong with it .plus a photo of printed circuit side might be helpfull .

if the board was wired incorectly from the start the board is cooked and will do all kinds of strange things I will forward this to bill and he may just replace the units as the correct wiring is posted and i will also forward the pics to him so he has the full setup on his site he has been so tied up with buisness that he may not have put up the full how to

all i can say is i have set these up and had no trouble at all with them and have had no issues with the install
