I hope you guys are happy...You've made me hate my Pantiger :haha:

The Rx inside was rev 5.3, same as the faulty one I installed in my MKIV. I swapped them today and now the MKIV works great. The poor old PT no longer can elevate the main gun and when it shoots the BBs may fly out or just might dribble out the end 8O (don't they make a blue pill for that?!?!?!)

I'm still holding out for a miracle, maybe they've got an old relic PT hidden down in the bowels of Bovington or the Smithsonian over here ;)

Hello DubarImage Can you try your hand at switching the turret innards from a donor tank or source new turret mechanisms to give your old Pantiger the old spark it used to have before it needed the blue pills?? In all seriousness it's actually not that hard to do and once you figure it out its quite simple and rewarding

HA!!! The Pantiger IS my donor tank :haha:

I still haven't figured out why it's shooting multiple BBs on occasion.

I did find another issue last night. I thought the turret traverse was a bit short, didn't rotate anyway near 320 degrees. Found elevation wires were too short and were almost pulling out of the socket!!! I lengthened it (where's that wire stretcher when I need it?) so fixed that.

2 components that are in the elevation circuit have actually been toasted off the board, GONE (from an earlier mishap). So at the very least I need to get another board if I want the elevation fixed.

Good thing is the Pantiger is giving me plenty of maintenance training on 1/16 tanks

Took it apart, the bucking is practically gone, only a small ring remains.

I went to the local Lowes to look for an oring or washer in the plumbing department that might work and found a couple to try.

One of the things was a valve seat about the same size as the bucking. I also picked up some 5/16" I.D., 3/8" O.D. orings.

I could get either on, but the rubber was too dense, didn't work.

I have a pack of +/-1/8" adhesive-backed foam rubber sheets I got a Wal-Mart or Michaels Arts & Crafts, so I cut out a piece and punched a hole in it to tightly slip over the end of the barrel, with the adhesive side towards the front end of the barrel, sticks to the flange on the barrel that mates to the gun shield.

Seems to be working fine  I fired a dozen BBs thru and each came out separately. I'll fool around with it some more to see if I get any misfires, but if it holds up that's one problem out of the way.

In addition to the piece of flat foam rubber I placed between the gun and shield, I ended up slipping an oring on too.

This morning I fired her up and out of 54 shots, I had 40 good shots and 14 with double BBs. Believe it or not that's a big improvement over what I was getting.

I'm wondering if spreading a bit of RTV around the barrel and gun shield/mantlet would work to form the seal needed for this thing to fire good every time? I know getting a new Bucking would be the thing, but I can't ID the part number or find one anywhere that I know will work. RTV can always be peeled off and replaced if the gun has to be taken apart. This is a non-recoiling gun by the way.

Aliexpress seems to have a large range of Pantiger spares.

Here is another thought for your Pantiger. A Jagdtiger really needs a King Tiger donor, so you need to make the Pantiger something not commonly seen. If you are handy with modelling, how about an E50 Flak Panzer? It is mostly straight lines.

HA!!! Wouldn't that require a left hand and a right hand airsoft gun mechanism, in order to get the guns so close together??? ;)

I think I'll save my $$$ to get a RTR Jagdpanther, unless someone comes out with a MarderIII Ausf H.

How would they make the gun for the Marder, with all the exposed parts? None of the guns in my tanks really look like the actual gun from the outside.
