Hi Nick Bought them on e-bay here http://cgi.ebay.com/pinion-gear-8-tooth--brass-press-on-48-pitch_W0QQitemZ370205031042QQcmdZViewItemQQimsxZ20090522?IMSfp=TL090522159006r30933
They are a very good price bit the hole needs to opened up its only 2mm so it needs opening up to fit the motor pinion which is 2,3mm I drilled them with a  2,2 then a 2,25 drill to make sure they didnt go oversize.

Hi Pete,
How are they holding up in testing. If they last the course it'll be another of your great mods.
I have a drill press that I bought from B&Q years ago, one of those big, heavy and cheap chinese ones. The thing is there is a bit of side play and I don't think it would be accurate enough to drill a decent centre.

Hi Guys had the Pershing out for a (battle)test run today, its only got a 2000mha battery and ran for almost an hour and it did get some stick .Can report the the 8 tooth pinion has slowed it but also increased the torque, still a little fast but at least it can move after being hit and I think when I put metal tracks on it the speed will be about right ,The only problem I had was the tracks not gripping so will have to save my pennies for metal tracks also had the Firefly out and the Tamiya metal tracks are the same as plastic sliding all over will have to change tese as well ,The firefly is also going to have the gear ratios changed after 1 hit it wouldnt move so will have alter the ratios or fit Heng Long gearboxes with 8 tooth pinions  ,My Tiger has the same problem of stopping(it has 3:1 gears ) when hit once so will have to look and see what I can do .Tried My panzer4 out with 8 tooth pinions and it worked great apart from thowing tracks will have to look at the tensioners .So Have had a good day all 4 Tanks ran till the batteries died and nothing major broke.

Pete, that is why I went for the impact tracks for my Sherman and Pershing they grip better due to the extra depth of tread in the track shoe ( well you knew that didn't you)

Hi Just been looking at the price of the impact tracks will have to win the lottery to do both PERSHING & FIREFLY it would cost a small fortune ,the sherman can wait till they bring out the mato sherman and the vvss suspension buy that time they may have some different tracks ,But the Pershing its T81 or Im back to the type that slide all over dont no why mato dont make T81 & T66 tracks .

Hi Nick Yes had almost a full hour run time and it only had a 2000mah battery so with the battery that im going to fit 3800 shoul have plenty of fun time .Been very busy lately with the honey do list almost had a black belt at karati paint da house paint da fence sand da floor only had to do wax on wax off and id have had a black belt thought about it and took the car to the car wash .
Have painted and done the transfers so just to finish off a few bits ,then weather it ,have still to fix the flash but havnt the funds yet for that .apart from the flash it is fully battle ready all the systems work ,have still to figure out how to switch the lights on using the DX6i ,I know they work because they flash in test mode.here are a couple of photos before I weather it .
