Re: 2.4 GHz MFU different version conversion help.
Ok a couple of answers & (maybe) a clue.
The original was a 27 MHz, the seller converted it to a 2.4 GHz.
As such it worked briefly (probably my fault as I over-rotated the turret).
I trouble shot the turret rotation failure & nailed it down to the MFU.
Then I got a new receiver/MFU only but it didn't match the 2,4 GHz transmitter I had because the receiver/MFU was for a Transmitter with smoke on/off & volume on the transmitter, not the old 27 MHz in tank type.

Sounds like you've figured out the issue
So your control is currently a 2.4ghz rx18 and the radio is also 2.4ghz? Did the new board come with a binding plug?

The 2.4 won't be compatible with the old style radio. If you have a 2.4 ghz Heng Long radio it maybe as simple as binding the New board to the existing transmitter.

Re: 2.4 GHz MFU different version conversion help.
Both the sender & the receiver are 2.4 GHz.
The sender seems to not have sound & smoke control though. Were there 2 (or more) versions?
The tank arrived working with the old MFU & the same transmitter.
Whats a binding plug?

Re: 2.4 GHz MFU different version conversion help.
I think I've found the issue.
My new MFU is probably not compatible with my sender radio.
There seem to be several versions of the 2.4 GHz radio & I had the older one, without a visible antenna, but the new one is the version with the visible antenna & supposedly it needs a different 2.4 GHz sender unit to match it & a binding plug (which I do not have).
My sender radio is the one shown in the top left, but the new MFU is the type shown in the bottom right.

Even stranger I have the 3-pin plug labelled as "CN4" & "VR" which is connected but I can't find any 2.4 GHz MFU with this feature. I think its the 3 channels for the old 27 MHz system but it still connected?
ARGHHHH!

That's what I figured. Can you locate the correct radio on the web? Or try posting on this forum in the wanted section I'm sure someone can help you out!

Re: 2.4 GHz MFU different version conversion help.
Nice, thanks.
I'm going to try for the right MFU for my existing one first I think. maybe I can do a swap for the one I have. Otherwise I'll end up with 3 transmitters for one tank!
