Re: Another kitbash
looking good just one area that needs attention is the height of the tank it seems to be sitting about 5mm too high that or the sprocket is too high otherwise it looks good

Re: Another kitbash
Hi guy's more pictures tomorrow to show the adjusted ride height. As to the front sprockets I think you maybe right but I am stuck with it for now due to using HL gearboxes. As soon as funds allow I may well swap them out for Asiatam low profile units. Thanks for the comments. All the best for now

Re: Another kitbash
Cheers Rob, but I am now using a 1980's Tam lower hull. Having to allow for suspension housing brackets. Hence increase in sprocket height. Now for the $64,000 dollar question what is the height in MM from the base of Asaitam gearboxes to the top of the drive shaft ?
. All the best for now

Re: Another kitbash
Not looking too bad now that you have dropped the ride height down just need to drop the gearboxes about 3mm then it probably wont be too far wrong, as you say this wont be possible until you get new gearboxes

Bit more work done today. Ripped out the airsoft unit and cut the gears and motor housing away just kept the outer skeleton for the gun pivots and elevation workings. I am thinking of putting some sort of recoil unit in the turret. At the moment I have 3 options an Asiatam unit from my Panzer III that is on stop for now, then there is an old WSN unit from a T34/85 that died years ago. If all else fails I will spring for a HL recoil unit. Also cut the replacement gun barrel off the Matorro mantlet and remounted everything in a spare Tamiya mantlet I had down the shed. So now the gun can recoil about 15mm in total. Belive it or not it took most of the afternoon just doing that little bit. Pictures show chopped airsoft unit and the turret with gun at full extension and full recoil. All the best for now

Hi guy,s just a quick update on the KT hybrid. I have added an alloy floor pan the full length of the hull. The Asiatam low profile gear boxes are fitted and track alignment checked. Also added the Shumo torsion bar upgrade. Put an HL recoil unit in the turret. Last but not least Shumo air vent covers. Also added JST connectors for the turret rotation motor and barrel elevation motor to allow the Tamiya DMD and MFU from my Tiger 1 to run the KT. Pictures to follow.
