Thanks for help with the images -I have since removed the sandbags on the Sherman as I was not happy with them.
The tigers are some serious beasts! I had to turn the volume down on both!
I plan to be at the Tunbridge event on 20th. I will b ring the IR tanks and the M16 halftrack as well.

I have done buildings, but trying to print 1/16 scale on a 3D printer is going to take months. I find that using styrene is way quicker, and if you want a 3D stone effect you can just score the styrene for the cement lines. There are a couple of printable walls on the web, but they take a bit of playing around with in Netfabb to slice off the bits that you don't want.

Openscad is good for regular shapes, but it is hard work to get random organic effects, like stone surfaces.
Blender will do it but I've never mastered the art.
Organic shapes also take way longer to print due to the complex layer structure.

Another route, and the one that I prefer, is to use plywood, smear waterproof tile cement over it, and then score cement lines in the wet cement. Before it has dried completely use very dilute grey and burnt umber coats to give it a natural stone appearance. By painting it this way, if the cement chips the paint has soaked through the cement as doesn't show up the white cement colour. Tanks run into buildings on a battlefield all the time, so making them as tough as possible is a definite bonus.

You could construct an entire building manually in the time that it takes to 3D print a small section of wall?

Hi, I've just joined this forum and am just getting into RC Tanks.
I'm a volunteer at the Suffolk Aviation Heritage Museum just outside of Ipswich and we're looking at the possibility of setting up a Tank Battle area for when we have our special events.
The Museum is open every Sunday 11am - 4pm from April to October.
Might not be ready now but as we build up the area you might be interested in paying us a visit.
