Richard, If I were you I would be very wary of commenting upon the United States of America's electoral system, we may yet end up with Mr Boris Johnson as our Democratically elected leader,
Although we could yet be saved from a fate worse than death if our hero Jeremy Corbyn defeats Boris, :lolno:
So you see folks you think America is full of Political deadbeats, well it appears to me that they don't have exclusive rights in that department.
Shaun.
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:

I carefully refrained from commenting on our own situation. At least Boris has held a number of elected offices. There's a prospect for the future - President Trump, Prime Minister Boris and, not to forget the present Russian incumbent, President Putin (or will he be Prime Minister again?). Would the last person to leave the earth remember to turn off the lights?

Herman I willingly concede we were beaten by the better side in one Rugby discipline BUT the following week we became WORLD CHAMPIONS in the other Rugby discipline, :haha:
Much as I do believe the USA is champion in World series Baseball.

Aussie Rules or League? I'd assumed Aussie Rules came about because Gaelic Football was too complicated? 8)

So no more Rugby in the Olymipics because the Americans won't give the trophy back? :D

I'm inclined to agree with you, Richard. I saw a line lately- attributed to 'unknown', that sums up my own view of politicians: 'Politicians and diapers (UK: nappies) have one thing in common: they should both be changed regularly, and for the same reason..' Not to contravene the newly restated rules of the forum, I thought the MacTrump debate to be valid..and faintly humourous, since- if elected- he would be in charge of all those lovely weapons; some of which we model research, and all of which could affect out respective futures. After all, modelling and researching the Tiger 1 as 70% of us do, according to Shaun, can't easily be separated from the bizarre system of geo-politics that gave rise to its creation and use...and of hero-figures like, Michael Wittmann. Still, what is beyond contention is no other manifestation of human endeavour- save perhaps, fighting Ebola or catastrophic natural events, galvanises
humans in the way warfare does. Just look at the technological leaps made between 1914-18 and 1939-45: from pop-guns to mach-7 rockets, and kites to jet aircraft. My own family has paid a heavy price in war, but I'm forced to admit that nothing makes us, as a species, quite so industrious..as warfare..like warrior ants, almost. By the by, Brits invented ALL worthwhile sports, and variations on them (baseball: poor imitation of 'rounders, American 'football'; an armoured version of Rugby etc.....It was' the chinese, as anglo haters maintain. :lolno: They also exported some of their top exponents, albeit generations ago: Americans, Australians, New Zealanders, Canadians and well..MacTrump, the golfer. This is not meant to be a 'barn burner', Painless..just a lively debate.
