Looking good dude, I was hoping you were going to do servo recoil though! I wanted to know how the barrel joins to the mantlet or if its seperate? No trouble if you don't know, getting mine Thursday so will strip it down then!

Good to see you launching into this with unbridled enthusiasm, fixed just about everything that can be fixed. I wonder which manufacturer will be the first to do an alloy barrel and bellows so that a neat recoil can be installed?

Ok cheers Paul, I will get to grips with it soon enough, I have ordered a few items to try as barrel gaiter's so I will let you know which of these ( if any!) work well once I dive into my build, thanks again for the quick response!

Really like the turret speed you get with the servo I must do something with my Abrams to get that. Have you tried modifying the Hl gearbox so there are fewer speed reduction gears in it?

Plastic barrel? A bit of a let down there.

especially since that's the part that tends to get damaged a lot (at least when I play my RC tanks - those barrels have been hitting a lot of stuff hehehe)
Man, that smoker (TARR right?) Is awesome. I want one for my Leo2 and of course the future Challenger 2.
Looking great! Wot colour scheme will you be doing? Sticking to desert go give the M1 a stablemate? Or will it best bud of your Leo2?

I was thinking that as HENG LONG as a matter of good business sense direct their products primarily at the TOY market they figured that a ten year old was as likely to damage a metal barrel as a plastic one which would just add to the cost of the product and in a competitive market cost is king,
If they think about hobbyists at all they would assume you would upgrade to a metal barrel along with all the other upgrades as soon as possible.

I agree with u shaun
In some way as HL seem to be listening to our wants ..who would have dreamd a couple of years ago
we would have an abrams ..chally. t90 and t72 ...maybe one day some one will make a metal barrel .
after Al, it's going to be a night mare to add a recoil to the chally as it is.... with the bellows cover a the Base of the gun ....eek !

Pritty cool read . Mostly a ww2 man myself , but that C2 design is growing on me . That viper volum control looks good , could you explain once more how you hook it up to the amp you use ?
Had a go at a C2 soundset myself, needs a tweak ore 3, and a another shutdown sound
