Thanks. So if I do come to the conclusion that it's slack, how do I tighten it? Take out a link or is it the idler that I need to look at?

If you don't have a idler tensioner Muscles....pulling a couple of pins and adjusting the links is pretty much the only choice you have ...it's usually the best way anyway...as some tensioners just don't give you enough to play with

The idler is adjusted by turning one of the two screws underneath at the rear (one screw for each idler). Pull off the hull roof and look under the speaker box, (you may have to unscrew this and take it out. It'll be worthwhile to see what you're doing the first time to tighten/loosen it. After that, you can just use a screwdriver from underneath and go by feel). -Mike

Thanks - might be a tad difficult to do... my brother has covered the bottom with fake mud and rust! I can't see any screws anymore I don't think - I'll take a photo tomorrow and will post on here.

Should be two bolt heads on the underside, not flush.

There's a member here who once answered a question about weathering....I do recall him saying...there was a time he did things with a heavy hand...I think that's what he meant....and probably a good reason too much weathering can get in the way
Clearing off any added material to clear access would only benefit you Muscles...especially as you get further on in the Hobby

Ok, so I have not been able to take a photo of the underside:
1. The tank is freaking heavy that I worry I'm going to break something if I lay it on its side!
2. I can't lift it to take a photo because I can only pick it up from certain places on the front and back because of all the details (I don't want to damage anything as I know nothing about painting models!)
3. I always forget to ask either my wife or my 8yr old son to help.... this is my option I think!

I did, however, managed to take a photo of the whole side track profile so you can tell me if it's definitely loose or not. (I have the King Tiger now and the track on it, well the top is straight and level and is not touching the wheels the track is about 1cm or so above the top of the wheels - is this how the tracks are supposed to be?)
I still don't know how the idler works - on my Tiger, the two bolts are kinda loose... is the 2 vertical bolts are not fixed tight and wobbles - is this correct or are they supposed to be fixed in place? I need to do a video of them but it'll be tomorrow - my wife has issued me a ban tonight and i'm not allowed to touch the tanks anymore tonight.




By the way - the photos above were taken when the tank was suspended in the air between two sneakers (trainers in the UK) (I was going to run them and see how the tracks spin in the air but couldn't be bothered so took the photos instead)

The Gap looks good to me Muscles ...any tighter it would be no good...a little looser would be ok...but it looks to have close to a 1/4 in gap...leave it...run it...break it in ...it'll stretch a little more that should be perfect

Thanks. I still need to learn how to adjust the idler screws for the future as i have no idea how they work but I'll research that separately

This is the screw I need to be tightening I guess?

Goodness me muscles that is some serious concrete spray so is that the first time you have looked under that muddy unit I'm sure you would never see it .
first on the to do list if you have a multi tool with a wire bit I would clean the pan heads up so you can adjust it .

Haha yeah it's the first time I managed to look under!

I had a look inside as well. Can you guys tell me if this bolt is supposed to be loose or not?
