Hi Mart ,
I will try to describe the measurments I used baring in mind I moved my turret hole back 10mm and centerlised the ring on the bottom of the turret else the turret spins off centre . With the turret off and comparing it to other tanks it seems to be reasonably accurate but I wouldnt say it was 100% perfect .
The turret ring I cut from a piece of 2mm plastic sheet it is 4mm wide . Im sorry I cant give you the diameter , I drew round my turret and added the 4mm with a very slight breather space hardly noticable . But I will try and help with measurments I have from mine . Looking down onto the top part of the body the measurment from the outside of the turret ring to the inside of the lip on the hole is 32mm .If you measure from the edge of the tank to the outside of the turret ring its 20mm . the space at the rear were theres no ring measures 65mm , the turret ring just reaches to the inside corners of the front engine grill .
I placed the turret onto the tank and marked were the ring should go , then removed the turret and placed the ring onto the body , I taped it into position with masking tape . And to double check it was ok I placed the turret back on and spun it round . Again removed the turret and cut the ring were it meets the inside corners of the engine grills, it measures 65mm between the ends of the ring . I then drilled through the ring and body to allow small pins to hold the ring in place whilst the glue sets . Some of the pins got stuck so I just trimed them down .
I have read that the rings were welded on , so I put a weld seem around the outside of the ring . But model ones Ive seen had bolt heads on theres ? I havent seen a close enougth picture of an original to see .
I hope this is off use and like I said it seems ok when comparing it with other models , photos etc but Im not saying this is the best or only way to do it or that its 100% accurate .
All the best Andy

Hi Mart ,
I took my scale tank plans book to a place in Pboro today and they scaled up some plans for me to 1:16 scale so I can work from them , it cost tho . I had the Tiger I and from this my turret seems to be reasonably correct . I think with moving the turret hole 10mm and then centerlising the turret bottom ring which I think maybe of centre by 5mm giving the 15mm which peolpe say ? They also did me a late war Stug III ausf G as thats something else Im working on . And a set for a Panther Ausf G . Im thinking of scratch building the deck and turret as I feel theres not a lot of hope with the HL one , fitting the HL parts back and may be buying a HL Panther bottom and correcting that . This is a long way off yet tho. Im looking forward to meeting you and other guys at Ferry meadows . Can I ask did you email the Evening Telegrapth regarding Posh ?
All the best Littletankman

Hi Brel,
Im happy to just dont want to tread on any ones toes . But how do I post ? I have several photos of the work some posted . I think its an easy mod and I wouldnt consider myself an expert . My father is into model enginering so we have an extensive work shop although you dont need many tools for this one . And as Im out of work I have time on my hands , just this week my children are on Easter holls ( Im a single dad to ) .
Thanks Littletankman
