Right, the plot thickens
I connected up the 2.4ghz taigen unit, and all works fine, sound machine gun ect, just not recoil sound because of the mod needed form the ibu2.
the ibu2 board looks fine, there's no burn damage, the chips don't smell cooked, and I cannot see any cracked solder joints or pin damage.
when I turn the rx, tx on the green light keeps blinking on the board, if im reading the pdf right, it means its not getting a full connection to the receiver, it should be an unbroken green light, no blinking.
so ether I've connected the receiver up wrong, or I've been sent a dud 4 channel unit (radio, not board), because I cannot think of another thing that would be causing it.
I was going to see if I could re mate the rx and tx again to each other, but im not sure how, instructions in German, it said it was pre done for you, but the box was a bit tatty, so im wondering if I got sent a return by accident, this is no reflection on rctank.de, ive always had a great service from them, and have bought many times from them.(cheaper than tank zone for tanks, and welsh dragon doesn't stock the actual tanks, or id get it in blighty, any other stockiest I haven't found shout at me about)

also I ordered from rctankelectronis for another of these boards, is that wibbly wobbly or tank bear, just want to say thanks to both of you, and the advice that I've been given for something I didn't buy from you is fab, didn't think guys like you existed anymore

what do you all reckon????

The Flashing green led is normal. The instructions are referring to the extended signalling which is shown through the battle unit LEDs.

maybe the led is too power full and the ibu2 not strong enough to power it ??? Can you try plugging in another tank top to see if it works on that led?

Hi tankbear

I stuck the whole unit in my taigien panther, and the led worked, not as bright at the 2.4ghz taigen unit but still no proportional smoke, so I popped it back in the tiger, and the machine gun was working, again quite faintly.
but still no proportional smoker, works when you use the stick on the tx, but not under tank movement, so just in case im charging up my battery to full, it hadn't been used a lot, but maybe its not enough juice to drive the smoker and motors.
It was doing it when I first installed the unit, which is really annoying, and the other annoying thing is to get it all working in the right directions all the stick movements for the turret are mirrored, because if I turned the turret right stick it would go left, ect.
ill give it ago with my battery completely charge, maybe that's it battery is 4600 Ni-MH

Thanks again

Good to know the led is working, as it's not as bright I wonder if the wrong resistor has been installed during production.

Does the the smoker work with the taigen electronics?

Yep, all perfectly, I don't have proportional, but it chugs away like a steam train, maybe I've screwed the board up?

Can you try it with the sd card removed, in case the setup file is stopping it.

Hi!
Tried it, no joy I think when I first fired it up the sd card wasn't in the board, I only realised when I went to look at the jumper lead for the rx, it was in the bag with that.
Would that have screwed it up when I inserted the card?

I'd like to post some pics to show you, but it keeps telling me the files too big!
Could I email them rctankelectrics?

Hi tankbear

I have a funny feeling it's the sd card, I removed it this morning to take it to pc world to get an adaptor, when I put it back in the machine gun was as bright again as the taigen mfu.
I tried the smoker with it out, but still no luck, but the first time I used it the smoker was working with proportional control, but with no sound, hence card wasn't in, but smoker working proportionally.
So it must have stopped when I put the card in.
And thanks again, so it's nearly all working, I do love it, I'm going to get on other pro from rctankelectronics, would like to get servo elevation and recoil in tiger and Panther, stick this one in my kv-1
