If you're looking for historical accuracy, there's quite a few little things needed to change on the TAIGEN kit.

There is a difference between the Aber and Taigan grills, not sure it's worth the costs but the Aber ones are detailed fairly nicely like the real grills. The Taigan ones lack any kind of detailing. Might not be worth it for the Tiger but the Panther and King Tiger Aber grills are much nicer than the Taigan or Voyager versions.

I've been looking at some photos this morning and can't see the tube on either side. Must be looking at the wrong photos.

Here are a couple of photos. The wide end, where it opens, is to the front. The back end is a little forward of the corner of the hull.
The tube doesn't run exactly front to back; the front end of it just about rests on the armour, but the back end leans out into space a little; just enough to let the hatch open.




On the first Tigers, before the S-mines were added, this tube was the other way around and its wide end hung out beyond the corner of the armour. But that's not relevant to you.

Good Morning! I very much like the looks of your rescue Tiger. What are the scabrous, silver spots I see on the exhaust shrouds? Where they broken there? If you are going forward with detailing, you have a very good base to build on. ;o)

The kit comes with a tube for the same side as the turret hatch at the back (same as in the photos above). Even has a little groove for it to fit in which is a little annoying as you have to glue only one side to the top of the hull. If you glue both sides you will end up glueing the top of the hull to the rest of it, meaning it won't come off again without a fight and a repair bill.

Good morning Painless, the ARTISTIC silver spots you see are my attempt at some battle damage, no After the paint was dry, I took my small propane torch and gave the exhaust shrouds a hit. I think I captured the burned paint effect quite well actually, don't you? The exhaust shrouds were intact upon arrival at my home. Have a good day my friend.
