I was in Maryland in 2010.
Strolled the deck of the railway gun, looked over every inch of the Jagdpanther, both Panthers, marveled at the failed impact scallops on the Jagdtiger glacis plate......................most of the big ticket items were already gone by then.
the museum proper was closed, not much was going on at this stage.
Driving in and out of what was/is a functioning military facility was quite sobering. Each unit barracks seemed to have its own war trophy(a T-34 here, a T62 there etc) but the most stark reminder of correct behaviour protocols came at the visitors centre :

You sign a document that lists the rules of entry, and amongst them is ;

The use of DEADLY FORCE IS AUTHORISED WITHIN THIS FACILITY :O :wtf: :problem:

Tank museums are the best. Living History that you can touch. Thanks for the pictures, Michael. I'm looking forward to going back and spending a week there next time.
