I hope they try their best to take care of you and that goes some way to making up for their carelessness while you try to make good. I don't think they will ask for the tank but if they do try to strike a deal with them so that you can keep it as a do-er upper. I did this once with one of my motorbikes after getting knocked off it ie I got the payout for the damage AND kept the bike. Keep us posted please and good luck!

A friend of mine worked as a delivery driver for a while, he said the guys at the depot liked to "test" the packing on anything marked fragile.

This is bordering on tragic..............
I use DHL out of the U.S. for EVERY work related part from under 1 kg right through to 2 tons, only air freight as urgently required..............we get around $8-12 AUD per KG(depending on cubic dimensions) and never had a failed delivery. FAST.
The only UPS delivery that our U.S. supplier sent us from Oklahoma went missing in the East Timor Sea to the tune of USD$22,000.
I may be sticking my neck out here, but a 'hammered' Palepainter Tiger is still better than one of my 'Good' ones
I wish you luck mate

Oh god, the rage I felt while reading this thread....
Best of luck with UPS. If they blow you off don't drop the issue, be that asshole customer and demand, demand, demand! Hope you deal with a nice person there but if not just fight for everything you deserve...
I'm so sorry to hear about some ruined artwork. It's not just a toy, it's valuable art at the point many of us bring it to...

I hope you remembered to take pictures.
When a shipment arrives damaged, always always take pictures. If the box is damaged, take pictures. If the model is damaged, take pictures. You'll need evidence or they'll just blow you off.

Too late to go to the UPS store today, we were VERY busy at work and had to take it easy cause its just so damn cold and the wind it murder! Try hanging on the side of a railroad car and have to ride it a mile to service a custom, its sucked!
Anyway I have talked to Palepainter at length and I feel that I SHOULD be able to duplicate the lower hull and its paint job I doubt I'd be able to do the upper so thankfully its not that bad and what is messed up I can fix.
I hope I get done early enough tomorrow so I can take the tank up to UPS and show them in person what they did. I know they're not going to give a crap about it but I'm not going to just go away, they're gonna have to do something to make this right.

Jackalope sorry the UPS trained monkeys messed your tank...i would not even attempt to fix a Tx, the only ones i have been able to fix are the 2.4 ghz ones, the modules interchange on these. One time i got a bad Tx out of the box, so i took it apart, i swapped out the module i needed (both the steering and turret gimbal switches or whatever they are called, do interchange - three screws and two plugs is all it takes) and was able to make one good Tx from two bad ones. The regular RX18 transmitter i have taken apart, took one look at the spagetti like mess and gave up...if that's the one, i wouldn't even try. I'd send it back and make them make good your loss, especially since they damaged the tank as well. Have any pictures? UPS might want pictures anyway if and when you make a claim, the sooner after delivery the better.

I don't like UPS or FED EX....those guys could give a rip about most packages...there was an article about four months ago where a UPS guy left an IPAD in the garbage can because it was raining... the IPAD was taken away in the rubbish collection

....Suffice to say ...if the recipient hadn't gone public ...there's a good chance she wouldn't have seen any reimbursement
USPS is the Best here...the carriers are friendly..and are open to delivery preferences ....the only damaged items I ever got from USPS..was generally because the sender didn't pack well
With that said...In this case Jack...I think it's KARMA

...Your missus must have had more MOJO going that you did
