thanks guys, and youre right stevie it will be worth it when finnished, hers a few more pic's of what ive done today the wooden block i made from a bit of wood and the sides are 'styrene

Nice job it'll be an interesting build to watch, looking at the second batch of photo's, i think the sixth one down, were do you get the bearings for the drive shaft i've tried 8mm id but the shafts always seem to be 8.something

the bearings i use are from technobots, they are 8mm flanged bearings http://www.technobots.co.uk/acatalog/On ... s_385.html , i glued them in with epoxy, not ideal but ok, i had the same problem as you, with the out put shaft, they always seem to be abit bigger than 8mm, the only thing you can do is take the out put shaft out of the box, and put it in a drill and "sand" it down abit, untill it fits the bearing, this is what i had to do with my 'boxes, though the out put shaft in the asiatam 3.1 'boxes is made of brass and a much better fit, i didnt need to sand them ones down at all, i hope this helps.

thanks for that, it's exactly what i had to do then had trouble with the metal sprockets too loose on the shafts, solved it by building up the end of the shaft with j b weld, a bit of filing on the flat to get a tight fit and then blue threadloc on the sprocket retaining bolt.
Seen a few tanks with the bearings fitted and just though there was an 8.? available somewhere,

heres an update of what i've done to my Tiger over the weekend, well ive started to install the electronics, what a headache this is, even though theres more space in the new hull, as you can see from the photos the 3 boards like reasonably neat in there, to fit them like i have i cut all the standoff's out, and re-positioned them for the elmod boards, i intend to make a plate to go across the hull just behind the gear boxes to stop the electronics getting covered in oil, the rx will go between the gearbox and booster the best place for it that i could think of, as you can see the blue emnet cable has been cut down to make it look neater, thanks to nigel who cut this cable down along with the think tank drive cables, nigel done a great job of doing this, and he did it while i waited, you dont get service like that to often

, it looks so much better with these cables cut down, almost like a custom fit.
i have also started on the turret (gulp!!) you can see from the pic's i have cut the cuppola off and that out of scale underhang thats under the stowage bin, the cuppola was cut off because when ive finnished it will need repositioning, if you look carefully on the pic of the top of the turret you can see a score mark at the rear, this is what is going to be cut off, hopefully when done it will look ok and more in scale, i am also going to try and make the stowage bin with opening lids, and also a new whole rear lifting eye. hope you all like the pic's
