just heard that tamiya are doing a re-release of there 1/25 range ie centurion, chieftan, panther ,tiger and jagdpanther
anyone else heard this or is my lhs owner still sniffing the green putty lol
My local hobby shop has the Tamiya 1:25 Centurion with full interior detail in stock at £99.99,
they also have the Trumpeter 1:16 King Tiger with interior detail, and he has started to stock HL Tanks.
Things are looking up in my neck of the woods.

Hi folks,
I still have my 1/25th Chieftain and have started to HL it! Though that was about a year ago. I will probably begin again with the much smaller RX-18 to save on space.
The original gearboxes are rather poor.
The Tamiya re-releases were discussed on PanzerKetten after the Nuremburg toy fair. They are apparently using the 1/35 Tamiya RC running gear. This means the turret will turn too. Was not sure how I was going to do that with the HL rotator as it is a bit too big.
I too saw the Centurion full interior re-release in my local (to work) model shop for £99.99. At first I assumed it was a 'loft find', but then saw the PK report a day or two later.
So many part-done projects, so little time!
All I need is to be made redundant and win £50k (I'm not greedy!) on the lottery.....

the vstank gear should fit
although i made the turret rotation from an old servo and a big resistor to slow it down

Yep they are being rereleased but the prices are shocking. I have had all teh Tamiya originals at one time or anotehr and they are things of real beauty. Dont be put off by teh Chinese copies (Toystar) The two side bi side bear no comparison whatsoever.
If you can get a Tammy Centurion or cheiftain at a good price second hand then get it quick.

£97 is the lowest I've found in the UK so far.....p+p not included at this stage.
I saw some of the 1/6 Dragon kit range in the model shop in Cheltenham when last visiting friends near there at New Year.
Not seen them locally to Southampton yet though.
My wallet is burning!

Having said that, I still have my 1/16th Eduard Schwimmwagen and my Tamiya 1/35th Schwimmwagen to build yet!
::)
