Am pinching alot of ideas I got from phils panther and Jake 101 but doing them in my own simplified way as the detailing on those builds is beyond my current skill set but they are invaluable guides for anyone looking to build/ customize a panther and am going to approach something comparable with those builds! ( I hope!)
That's what the board is for Hoob.... Phil was one of the guys I used to watch when I was new here.... has a lot of tricks for tweeking on HLs .... learned quite a bit from him :D

You know it.. ....you going to do the lashing hoops on the side of the turret? thought that was a nice detail... ;)
The hardest thing to imitate....Phil's paint ...his weathering is outstanding :D

I might do the lashing hoops not sure yet, gonna finish the upper hull detailing first then see what I can do with the turret, his weathering is pretty amazing, am gonna try some chipping techniques ive picked up around the place and hopefully use my new airbrush am expecting for Christmas, gonna try and be restrained on the weathering front as I think I went a bit over board on my last build!

Thing I like about Phil's paint jobs...He doesn't use many of the techniques others do.... but man his stuff just looks "real"....his tanks are like it's still in operation and not derelict ... ;)

But hey Hoob... I think it's a good reason to watch how far you can take this one ... I'm sure she'll be sharp looking....Now the only thing I'm wondering....will it be 2015 when she's finished 8O

well that depends how quick I paint it! but am off at Christmas so I should have time, I will get the primer and base coat on before that as I will just use rattle cans, the internals wont be done till well into 2015 though as they will cost a bomb! and I've got my tiger 1 build to complete too!

Sponge,
Good Morning. Definitely off to the right start. This will be one really sharp Panther when you are done. Check out Jeff1101's build as well if you haven't done so. He and Phil were the tank templates I used to build mine back in 2013.

Sponge,
The only thing I thought of looking at your work was to pull the rear engine deck lift hooks and turn them around so they are facing out. That's one of the things that none of the manufacturers seem to get right. If you want to add some more detail, easy and cheap, make and glue the three smaller lift hooks that go around each vent fan housing. Have fun, Sir!
