Forgive my ignorance (considerable when it comes to subs) - but what is a STATIC dive submarine? Does it move back and forth as well as sink?

Deitrich, there's a heck of a lot to get it ready for the water, Chris says two evenings but IMO you need more.

Alpha, it's just water! She wasn't happy at first, but she actually prefers it to the najade!

Tanks, static dive means the sub can submerge whilst not moving (as in the video). She does drive around but the bath is too small for that! The other type of sub is dynamic dive; this requires the subs forward motion to keep it under the water.

Thanks tom! That's the first time in my 45 years static sounded like something BETTER than dynamic... B|

Very Cool Tom.... sounds like so long it's military themed it's all good... so a nice stealth carbon fiber paint job some camo netting.. and maybe the addition of a driver with that " SHALLOW REEF" ahead expression like the one in your TIGER for a dash of humor on the Najade ...might bring it more in favor ;) ............ :D

Have a great time with your new toys tom

Quick update, ran her out on the canal for the first time today. Was only planning on surface running her today but that went out of the window! Took her down to decks awash a couple of times then down to periscope depth. Had a scare when I fully submerged her and she was kept getting deeper despite pulling up on the rear hydroplanes. I realised I accidentally trimmed her down with the front planes. Doh!! But she performed excellently, kept depth perfectly, watching her running along at periscope depth is awesome. I have to say though running an RC sub is equal parts amazing and terrifying!

Some pictures, unfortunately was too busy concentrating to get better shots:
