Good Morning,
I watched Battle of the Bulge again this past weekend. Patton is next on my list again as well. Don't forget some Afrika Corps infantry for posing alongside your 'Tiger' ;o)

Well, two years have passed and I have finally stopped messing around with half baked projects and kits I'll never build and purchased a new Tamiya Leopard and this used Pershing.
Not desertising this one - olive drab and weathering I think.
Photos to follow!
Also have tons of spares if anyone needs some bits!

Here's how she looks as of Sunday afternoon!
Decided messing about with cheaper projects was daft as you spend as much money as a full option Tamiya in the end.

Re: Desert M26 Pershing
I came to the same conclusion after my mass clearout a couple of years ago, I spent a fortune on buying tanks and then upgrading them. Since then I have gone down the route of using lower hulls to scratch build something totally unique from styrene, which is cheap. The only full spec tank I have is an RCTank.de Panther, it came with all the goodies and there was no way I could have either built one myself for the same money, or bought a Tamiya and got it to the same spec.
I do have a Bulldog, but that was a seriously cheap Ebay box of bits special.
Rob
PS If you have a Pershing lower hull complete and cheap.....PM me, there is something I want to build.

I think that's the trouble with this hobby. You want a Tamiya but can't afford it straight away, end up buying a Heng Long or Tamiya with no electrics and modify them to make them better! End up spending a bloody fortune and not having anything as good as a full option Tamiya! (IMO!)
I'm down to a new Leopard, Pershing, Hummer and a new Hummer coming next few days. All Tamiya of course.
I did buy a heng long Panther, ran it for half an hour then stuck it on eBay
lol

AdLav,
I understand where you are coming from. I recently sold a Taigen Tiger 1 kit to help fund a Tamiya Tiger 1 kit. To be completely honest tho', there are things that Tamiya does not offer that I want to build. ( and am ) I love using Tamiya parts on or in my Hybrids tho'. The quality is still there and from some of the new things coming out, the company's imagination has been woken up as well.

I completely agree that we need other stuff and Tamiya is not the only good tank producer, they just need to get some different kits on the market - most notably something British!!
