Thats a nice model, like you say the early version. Interestingly Italeri copied the Revell small scale S100, and simply scaled it up, as a result the 1/35 one has identical detail faults to the Revell one.

I have plenty of pics of the build, I will post them up when I get the chance.

Sounds good, the kits do have many faults,I have the 1/35 boxed, and still 2 more boxed PT109's. Me and Ken intending to build them soon, his in Australia and mine in the USA yet both as disruptive paint scheme boats used in the Med and Atlantic instead of Pacific squadron examples.Below I have attached the scheme's were considering, the Second picture being the same Lindberg Kit as mine done very well I think, yet I do not know the modeler.

Well call me a glutton for punishment, but I sold the one I built back then, and always regretted it. I was recently offered an almost completely built one, so this is now undergoing a completion , and RC Conversion exercise.

Times have moved on, so I am thinking that twin brushless props will give it enough propulsion. If anyone can recommend a pair of motors that will do the job that would be much appreciated. I have seen 10,000kv motors (cheap from AliExpress) mentioned but haven't a clue how they perform or the prop size to use. I am limited to about 30mm diameter on the propellers, the propshafts need to be around 35cm to get enough angle to locate on the motors.
