Good Morning,
You have already taken this far beyond the average modeler. "He who dares much", etc..etc.. Definitely watching to see you bring it to a successful conclusion.
regards,

Scratch build just our type of man, the adventurous type and getting on with it.
now watching your progress.

Edit.
Just had another look at your piccy's, in the background, me thinks it's a metal bashers workshop?

hi all,
thank you all for your kind words of encouragement.
but alas it really is going on the back burner for a bit.
sorry for the disappointment :{
I wish i'd started with something a bit easier ;D
a Cromwell build will do me good.
all those lovely flat panels.
how long can it take? :haha:
@ wibbly, do you still play world of tanks? if so whats your i'd name, i'll look you up.
@ panther ausf g, yes it is sort of a metalwork shop.
we make ultrasonic scanners & i'm in the metalwork team.
you'd think with all those electricians they could help me with my clark board woes! ( bastards! ) :O
so signing off, expect a Cromwell build thread soon
hopefully not in the same haphazard way!
cheers

I thought it looked like a Sheet metal or Fabrication workshop.
Your project is a very good choice, I'm very interested in the final model and how you overcame any hiccups along the way.
It's an excellent build well executed! not haphazard at all . If you do take a break from it hopefully not too long.

I will look forward to your Cromwell build.

I am so impressed with how far you got and I look foreward to the Cromwell, being a complete hypocrite I wish more people would build British WW11 Tanks even though I have no intention of doing it myself. After all someone has to keep the flag flying while the rest of us are building Tigers! shaun
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:

Hi Lister Fiend.
If you are interested in free plans for a Cromwell Tank Mk IV the hull and body is made from plywood. Other materials could be used but would increase the weight.
They are 1/6th scale but may be useful to you.

This link is by courtesy of the UK Tank club forum.
http://www.uktank.org
This will open up to the UK Tank club.
Click on the links.
Then scroll down to 1/6th ground Pounders.
This is Ray & Kieran’s website it includes their other builds as well; the models are scratch builds, by measuring the real thing. (Bovington Tank Museum).

On his site Ray includes. (This information copied from their website).
An introduction.
The materials they used and how much they cost.
The skills you will need.
Tools required.
Plans and Download viewer.
Wiring diagrams.
A video.
A narrative (step by step instructions with photos)
Questions and Answers.
The lot really.

Hi Lister Fiend.
I hope it's not too long before you return to Matilda.
I like your style, tell it as it is, no frills, down to earth, warts and all.

Thanks for the link panther
It's the warts that worry me :haha:
Edit: unless they can be disguised as rivets! ;)

I've just had a look & it might well help.
tbh I've already started the Cromwell build using the same method as before
i.e copying from a 1/35 Tamiya kit & the plans book ibought for the matilda.
I can only really "get to work" on Friday afternoons & that depends on how bad my day has gone!
cheers
