Heng Long Sherman

Post by Phil »

Unfortunately my Sherman arrived while I started my Panther and Tiger build, so now I have three tanks on the go!

After seeing the "other Sherman" I held off getting one until the Heng Long one arrived on the market. Tamiya was way out of my price rang at this time.

I like this model Heng Long have done a reasonable job, some little annoying details like the grab handles being solid plastic but what else I'm I going to do in my spare time.

Hull with new Taigen 2.4ghz unit from a very helpful chap from WDM, bought a job lot to replace my old Heng Long tanks using one tx, how cool is that?

Ready for more mods, I went for the BB version this time, bit more fun as I don't meet up with anyone to battle with.

Good Morning again,
Three builds at once, very cool! That surfacer is an amazing effect, looks just like scaled down cast steel.

Good Afternoon,
I'm taking notes as my next Sherman will be one of these. Thank you, Phil, for the heads up on the deficiencies of the tank and what will need to be corrected. Your work is stellar as always.

Good Morning, Phil,
It just occurred to me. I was thinking seriously about getting one of these from Waltersons for their special paint job along with other things like the 2.4 setup. If I am going to have to grind off molded on grab handles tho' that sort of ruins the appeal of a nice factory paint job. I may as well save the dough and get one locally with metal tracks, etc and add a 2.4 setup and get ready to do a major cosmetic job like you are undertaking.

Painless

I would go for the unpainted version, wish I'd done that with my panther as I'm going to repaint it anyway. Thats the best thing about this the modding! Liking your Panther build

The traps are plasticard, can't remember the thickness prob 1mm

Good Morning, Mr. Phil,
Your calm wisdom has convinced me. The Mate doesn't know it yet but I'm already cackling and rubbing my hands together over the prospect of another Sherman. I'm watching three on E-Bay, basic paint, metal tracks, etc. Thank you again for the compliments on the Panther. ;o)
