Verdict of the new 2.4Ghz system

Same rubbish controller, rubbish sounds (same as RX18 by my ear) and same control no improvement. Only improvement I could find is the tail lights are separately plugged in where as previously hardwired in.

Yeah does look like a nice bit of kit. Looks like HL are constantly improving (well not electronics).

Commander yeah probably same plastic accessory.

Things already on the to fix list (all same as the ZTZ99 tank)

Faster turret turn motor (that big cog really slows things down).
Drive shaft supports. Bearing or something
Rid of the metal gearboxes in favor of black metal quiet ones.

Ian.

PS Yes Chally 2 on my shopping list too.

Good Afternoon Tankbear,
That's an interesting looking Controller. I thought they would go with the one that Taigen is using. Is that a bushing on the idler shaft mount? Looks like a lot of room to play around in there. Does the gun shoot well? Pardon my questions, I've been wondering if this was going to be like the Hobby Engine one as far as hull detail goes, etc.

The controller, looks like HL decided to keep the old one (suppose saves costs on new moulds etc), the aerial is just a little plastic stub where the metal FM one use to be, so not certain if that will effect range as other 2.4ghz systems have a longer version with a bend so can adjust so is vertical. All the buttons are the same, strangely the trim adjust to the right stick up and down has gone (just a fake one) but still retains the left/right movement. Trims on left stick are still all fake. I did find that the synchronizing between controller and tank when turning on seemed very fast other 2.4ghz systems takes a few seconds

The idle shaft mount I expected be the usual screw axle for the idle wheel onto a lump of plastic on the chassis but this seems like a different arrangement so hopefully a lot stronger. No adjustable or self tensioning arrangement though.

Yes lots of room inside and is quite deep. I found the ZTZ99 looked like a lot of room but was shallow so couldn’t fit lid on, but this appears deeper and wider so lots of room.

Don’t know on the gun shooting, I don’t bother with the BB shooting so not tried it. Although the main gun is metal (plastic muzzle).

The tank does seem very detailed (can’t compare to the HE version) and plenty of accessories to be added yet.

Should be good with that set up. The one in the YT vids ploughs through grass, and motors around like a ferret.

What is the suspension like? Is it the same as the ZTZ?

LOL when I was testing it last night it was slower than a slug, but suspect the battery was low and the supplied metal gears causing a lot of friction.

Suspension yes same setup as the ZTZ.

The tracks although flat pad I think the pads are smaller than the ZTZ version and look a bit narrower. I need to do a side by side to see the differences.
