help needed for HL tiger 1

Post by jagman62 »

Hi,I am having trouble with my tiger tank ,it will run for a short time & then bounce on it's track with recoil noise & spin the turret (always to the left).Up to now I have bought higher capacity battery, pro charger, new chrystals,a different RX18 unit & receiver board but nothing has changed.Using the BB gun seems to make it happen more often(but I'm not to sure about that).Could it be the transmitter as the only way to stop it is to switch the tx off then back on again.hope someone can help me with this as I am losing patience with this tank and a 2lb hammer is beckoning.

hi wot wot
if the bits you have changed are new and still not cured it may well be the trannie unit, so if you have any way of borrowing a trannie to test your tiger with the new bits ? your wiring is correct? or get a new transmitter or a new 2.4 kit ? forgebear /wdm have these units contact them ?

hi it sounds like your transmitter has a fault on the left stick side run the tank but don't fire it see how long it will run before you get the problem if no problem then push the left stick up that will then confirm it is the unit if you get the problem return

Hi, thanks for your replies, today I have replaced the complete BB gun & motor with a new one I already had & still no improvement so if anyone has a cheap working transmitter please get in touch as I am now inclined to agree it could be the tx.The RX18 & receiver board were not new but as they made it no worse or better I am assuming it is not them.

Have you examined the connectors within the hull for cracks ,seems this happened before and involved the 8 pin connector fracturing and allow two wires to make contact, perhaps a review of previous post yet I do recall this problem in the past.

I'll look and post any findings, something about the yellow an brown wires and the gun causing turret rotation only to the left and effecting the drive control. One thing is for sure even in 1/16 scale GREMLINS will occur!

Hi,thanks again for all the info.Just posting an update,I have taken the complete left control out of the tx (still no change) and have disconnected the multiplug to the turret (which stopped the turret rotation) but the tank still lurches about uncontrolled.I have read some posts about a recoil switch on the gun but my tank does not have this although it has s & s.
