Leopard or Tiger 1

Post by panzershrek »

Hey everyone,

just out of interest, what would everyone say is the better, or more interesting kit, the Tamiya Tiger 1 or Tamiya Leopard 2A6, Ive been offered a choice of either 1 but can't decide.

hi alex
i would say the Tiger 1, but then i would say that, the tiger is my favourite tank, plus i am not a big fan of modern armour, personally i like ww2 armour,

I finally got to see a Tamiya Leopard 2A6 in action. My son took it out with are KT. I know only in our scale world would that happen, but it sounded and ran great. It was a very interesting tank on how it manuvered and how the gun barrel kept track of where the tank was going with its stabilizer. Al-tho nice I am with tiger205 there is nothing like WW2 armor. So take the Tiger1.
You have nothing to fear, but fear its self. Or maybe a KT too!

Just spent the afternoon in an IR battle between my Elmod Tiger 1 that is arguably built to a higher spec than a Tamiya Tiger, and an upgraded 2A6. The Leopard is fast, very fast, and in an IR battle runs rings round the Tiger. Well it should do, its modern v. last century.

Depends what you are using it for. The Leopard is fragile, lots of bits to break off, the suspension arms crack for a past time, alloy hull reinforcements to support the flexi-hull that you get as standard, plus the IR unit and gun stabiliser....you will not have much change out of a grand? It is a really nice tank though, and super slick.

yes, if money isnt an option here then the leo, i would get one if money isnt an option, also after you have built the perhing building the tiger will be easy, but the leo will be a challenge!

personally would go (if you got the cash) for the leo
does have a few faults sticky turret and suspension arms breaking and a few other niggles but the speed is awesome and the sounds

tiger is good lots of parts available cheaper than the leo

just my thoughts

Kind regards Rob
