Newbie 1424David

Post by 1424David »

G'day,
I am David.
I live in Queensland, Australia and am a member of the Moreton Bay Radio Control Tank Club. Our Club at this time is temporarily situated in Cleveland to the south of Brisbane and we are searching for another more permanent venue.
Our club can be found on the net at the Hobby Havoc site.
Our members run 1/16 tanks in the main although we do have some other sized r/c units.
Of course, our rules preclude the use of units which fire bbs etc.
We are fortunate that one of our members developed; at a very reasonable cost, an interface unit which allows Tamiya and Heng Long tanks to battle.
My own tanks are both Heng Long Panther G's. One I acquired was decked out as "The Cuckoo" to replicate the tank which was captured, repainted and used by American Forces in WW11.
I am currently, slowly, due to other considerations in the throes of scratch building an M113 in 1/16th size.
I intend to fit Heng Long motors and electrics to same.
The body is coming along gently and I will then be sourcing tracks, drive cogs and road wheels. Dictated of course by financial considerations. It is also my intent to mount a 76 mil gun turret as per the Australian model of the FSV.
Am not in a rush but will get there.

Welcome to the forum, sounds like you got some great Panthers and really interested in watching that M113 build. You should post some progress pics. Enjoy.
