Hi Mate, nice build. One question- It represent Czech army tank? Than the orientation of colours on flag is strange- red is never oriented up as it present blood which flow down.

Thanks for your observations and knowledgeable insignia insight on the Czech roundel.

Evidently the kit WWII placement instructions could be wrong, when compared to modern Czech roundel usage.

The art below is the Tamiya JS-2 kit decal placement guide and I have seen this roundel placed blue on top or red on top for WWII tank models.

For this model I will call the possible incorrect roundel placement position close enough and not blame either Tamiya or perhaps the 20 year old tank crewman who got it wrong almost 70 years ago during the closing days of WWII, no doubt, due to combat haste.

I think they have mistake in marking on Tamiya manual....
(Sorry for diging - Im Czech and for me is really strange to see our national mark and flag in strange position )
But I know it is quite common - also revell have similar problems on their models of czech models (planes)

I agree, modern Czech roundel placement compared to what the model kit makers think WWII Czech roundel usage was is at odds.

All in all the problem seems to be an issue of too much vodka, either with the kit makers and or the WWII Czech tanker who got the roundel on wrong.

I have yet to find any good color photos of WWII Czech tanks with roundels. They were probably to busy fighting to take many combat photos of their armor. Further, I don't think the Czech Army 1st Tank Brigade used the JS-2 during WWII.

Still, the Tamiya WWII kit turret graphic package looks great and works well enough for backyard battles.

FYI: In a b/w or sepia toned printed photo the color red will most often register as a black shade and blue a gray shade. You make the call as to which color is on top.
