The recoil wont work with the 3 connections on the recoil as it needs a permanent + feed to the recoil motor, the switching is done via the negative of number 4 on CN9 this starts the recoil motor action, the trigger switch on the top of the unit then gets a trigger signal when the mechanism has reached the full recoil position to tell the Clark board to break the negative to cn4.The negative to the recoil motor is then picked up from the micro switch by the gears(the gear by the micro switch has a cam on it) which after a complete cycle of the gear then breaks the negative to the motor ready to start the cycle all over again
Now all I need to do is sort out the elevation 6&7 which for some reason has nothing coming from them + or - which I have just contacted Clark to find out as to why

Thunderbolt you need to take a common positive from the headlight/machine gun to the recoil.

Like you say the negative is a fire signal then the other negative (thick wire you connect to the battery neg) powers the motor so the canon returns back to it's ready position.

Not certain why your elevation isn't working. You using the correct controls? i.e it isn't left stick down like on the Heng Long. If set up like HL so drive all on right stick you need to push left stick up half way then turn left or right to control elevation.

Thanks Tankbear, yes I have that one done, the recoil is now working fine, sound and everything in sinc'
I will have to look at the controls, that's could be where its going wrong. The left stick controls the forward/back left/right of the tank
the right stick all turret controls, traverse and fire but no elevation, what ever combination I use on both sticks

in that case it should be on your right stick.

Basically it is 1/2 way fire then left or right. bit like turret turn and but pushed half way to fire.

Glad you got the recoil to work.

Thanks Tankbear, you where right, it's on the right stick, but just under the point where the gun fires/recoil starts, moved up on right stick and to left and low and behold elevation motor moved, just need to adjust the control to fine tune it so I get elevation before the cannon fires

Great to hear you sorted it and agree elevation can be difficult without accidentally firing.

One trick you can do is mod the transmitter by adding small push buttons. Have a look at this

http://battlearmorrc.weebly.com/dx5e-ca ... ttons.html

Although that is for a DX5e transmitter and different electronics should give you the idea I'm trying to explain.

If you add a push switch to fire the canon, then adjust the trims so you the fire is really far up on the stick (or even out of range) that way your less likely to accidentally trigger the firing when using the elevation.

Problem is different radios have slightly different setup. I think the Planet is like the DX5e in the example above and simple short the two connectors, but i've done this mod on a hobby king radio and it needed a 1k resistor adding to make it work. Way to find out is get a electrical multimeter and measure the resistance across the terminals of the potentiometer when you push the stick up.
