HOBBYRAW

Post by jarndice »

Does anybody know about HOBBY RAW, I have just been to their site and they are selling HENG LONG LEOPARD 2, going through the site they have a wide range of products, not just 1/16, but I am reluctant to get too close until I know more about them. shaun

Go to their About us section, then copy and link the mission statement to a Google search, their is a link to another distribution company using the exact same mission statement?

Seems another distribution company not really a RC BASED interest as much as product sales and marketing interest.

Then the one thing most people never read, this disclaimer says it all-

The receipt of an order number or an email order confirmation does not constitute the acceptance of an order or a confirmation of an offer to sell. Hobby Raw. Increserves the right, without prior notification, to limit the order quantity on any item and/or to refuse service to any customer. Verification of information may be required prior to the acceptance of any order. Prices and availability of products on the Site are subject to change without notice. Errors will be corrected when discovered, and Hobby Raw. Inc reserves the right to revoke any stated offer and to correct any errors, inaccuracies, or omissions (including after an order has been submitted).

So buyer beware might be the best advice here,at least until they prove some level of service, and my disclaimer.

The above information is solely the opinion of me,not RCTANKWARFARE.CO.UK.

Man this legal speak modern world crap sucks, but it is the world we tolerate!

Hope this helps Shaun, some prices are Ok,but the best source will be the guys we know from years of growing with the Hobby and the forum, support those who support our passion.

Good Luck with your search, are you specifically looking for the Leopard? I may have another source if that is the issue?

Let me know if I may be of service, cheers Blake

Thanks for the heads up Blake, My interest is not in the Leo 2 but my ears always prick up whenever I come across a new dealer (new to me that is) as well as a new Tank. Having been ripped off once I have taken the advise that this site offers and am very careful where I place my custom. Yet again thank you for your help. shaun

Leo II from HL would be interesting but I have not heard from any of the established dealers out there about this. The site says 2.4Ghz and I am not aware of any HL based 2.4 Ghz system unless it is a borrow from Taigen. The transmitter is the old HL crystal based 29 Mhz transmitter, and the description on the battery requirement is also the old 29 Mhz transmitter (8x1.5v vs 6 x 1.5v).

Can't imagine them making things up but this is a lot of mis-matching information.

Hi Michael, You can see why I asked, I was led to the site whilst looking at another forum, and the doubts you raise were brought up there also. Thank goodness we have places like this to get to the truth. shaun

I wonder if there is a new HL 2.4 Ghz system which will be released with this tank. In the picture the differences with the controller are more than just a 2.4Ghz sticker. It also has a stubby arial as you would expect to see in a 2.4Ghz system, rather than the telescopic one we are used to.

Very well could be. I am still surprised that no one has heard or mentioned it and they are saying they have it in stock......... Even the Shermans took a while to get to market about everyone (dealers) found out about them. I agree though it does have the stubby but also a spot for the crystal (?!?!). The tank itself seem to look right, not some hack photoshop from 1/24 scale. Very interesting indeed.

I spent sometime on that website to check things out, and they are not very accurate. Under the 1/6 scale they are selling a HL 1/16 JadgPanther for example. I can just see ordering the 1/16 Leo II and either a 1/24 Leo II or a 1/16 ZTZ-99 shows up.
