Tiger 1 Air induction Pipe

Post by Hetzer »

How do fellas, I found some fiber glass weave cable sleeving in my local electrical supplies yesterday which makes for a good representation of Tiger 1 air pipe.

I found that it slides perfectly over the stock Heng Long pipe, cut to size, glued at both ends and sprayed the jobs a good 'un.

Yes, ANZAC the stuff I used here is heat resistant sleeving. I sprayed Tamiya acrylics through an airbrush and the paint adheres perfectly with a matt finish.

Hoofing....splendid job. One or two rivet counters might say its a little over scale, but it still looks much , much better than the stock shiny smooth stock pvc tube. ( Which incidentally does not take to painting very well)

Hi!
Thank x your reply. I believe that they are good too.
Concerning the scale the diameter of those pipes is the same of the hl one!!
I used an iron cable, taking out all the wires and using only the cover.
I painted it in black, few pigments and dry brush (over the all pipes with gun metal; this makes the upper parts more visible than the others).
I finally used a bit of orange rust, for the rust effect.

It has not difficult.

Cheers,

Gianfranco.

My automotive electrician gave me the wiring casings, which are used in cars.

To get the form of the tube, I use backflow pipe from diesel cars. I cleaned it from cloth coating. Purified rubber tube was treated with an glue and then was putted on the new coating.

There's the result:
