Bulldog Idler Problems.

Post by centmk4 »

The Bulldog is a 'snazzy' wee lightweight, which in appearance I find very appealing, to my eyes anyway :P .

However by getting the model with the 'upgraded' metal tracks and rear sprockets, I realise it has performance shortcomings.

Maybe you Bulldog folks have guessed it? It suffered a collapsed n/s idler wheel, and also a snapped off spindle extension which is part of the hull moulding. !!! Fixed, with a spot of plastic welding, and after it's first test so far it runs again.

However it has made me appreciate by comparision the more robust construction of the Taigen Tiger1, with it's metal gearbox, sprockets, idlers, and road wheels. Quite heavy at just under 7Kgs, and it works really well and this praise also extends to the smoker unit which gives a most realistic appearance to it's 'Engine'
