Came across this wonderful shot and this really shows why as a modeller you can pretty well do whatever the heck you want. Forget about the obvious improvisation of the unit #s, the crew and the colourization, this Tiger has S-mine mount (Very early hull), Early upper hull headlight mount (only on the right) and no center mount light, Mid to Late sprocket hub, dual periscope on the manlet which is Early, Early commander's cupola but a loader's periscope which is Mid/Late. I think the track mount on the turret is also Mid to Late as well.
Simply the craziest mix of Very Early to Late features all on one tank.

Re: Modeller's nightmare
That's actually very reassuring, as I am more going to my own style on my Tiger build and not so much perfect historic accuracy.

Yup. It means nothing is ever "wrong" and it can only be right if you are building one straight out of the factory and even then. I have read reusing of hulls and turrets so all kinds of mismatches.

Yup they reused anything they could find on the tigers due to how hard it was to make new parts, Plus crews would make there modificationsMichaelC wrote:Yup.
