the clutches in the drivetrain on my T34 is spinning.( Both sides)
How do i get to them , and can i preload them a little bit, or should i glue them solid?

I got to admit didn't know there was clutches in them, never had that problem.
I can't see harm in glueing them I do this with the plastic HL gearboxes.
Ian.

Hi Tankbear
You are right. There are no clutshes, it is the final nylon gear that spins on the axle. I will try to glue it in place. Wierd that it happened on both sides at the same time.

Re: burned clutces in WSN Torro T34
Might want to consider upgrading to metal gear set while you are at it.........
Re: burned clutces in WSN Torro T34
I Have looked for metalgear, but have not been able to find them. Do you have a link?
Edit: Found them, and ordered them

Re: burned clutces in WSN Torro T34
Hi,
If its anything like the problem I had with mine, the metal gearset didn't help. The "bearing" holes in the gearbox casings wore oval allowing the gears to jump out of mesh and make the clicking noise that sounds like a duff clutch.
I fitted gearboxes from the Bulldog and used a couple of gears from the metal gearset to go to the final drive, but as I remember its not a particularly straightforward job. However as I was gutting the tank and starting from scratch internally it didn't matter. I've been asked how I did it a couple of times now so it looks like I will have to drag it out of the loft and refresh my memory.

Re: burned clutces in WSN Torro T34
well. Im not impressed with the metal gears. There is a lot off tension in the system, as if the holes are not centered in some of the gears. I tried to "run them in" but that only resulted in frying a drive motor.
Took apart an old, not working 1:24 tank, and to my joy the motors were identical in dimension. ( they run a little faster, so i changed both of them)
Then put back the plastic gear on the motor axle, the next gear to, and went for metal the rest of the way. This solved the problem and the drivetrain now runs as it is supposed to. I still have metal in the part of the drivetrain, where the torque is, so I hope it lasts.

I did the same thing. I couldn't remove all of the plastic gears and it is part plastic/part metal. I don't run it very hard but hasn't had problem since.
