Smoker resistance/heater wire.

Post by centmk4 »

Does any good person know the exact resistance of this element, and the unwound length of the same please?

I believe it is.003mm diameter approx, but I'm not not at all sure about the other factors relating to it. Thanks, :angel:

Ooops! missed the decimal point and two naughts, Doh! :{

The resistance has been measured at 15.5 ohm - see this topic for more information

I've played around a bit with different resistance, lower draws more current and generates more heat and smoke. Managed to go down to 12ohms running of a RX18 with out causing damage.

Thanks for your replies guys.:):

I'm guessing I'll need to get a spool of suitable nichrome wire with an appropriate diameter and play around a bit to see what results I can get without messing the board up.
