I would take a shot, nothing to lose really. You can't hurt it. It just may not be powerful enough to influence it but give it a try anyway and let me know!
just to let you know I picked up a WSN winter T-34/85. Going to convert it to HL electronics you sent me! And my last purchase this year will be a KV-1 so I have 2 Russian and 2 German to have some fun with!

Okay gave it a good old college try tonight. It turn into a on/off rather than a control. I have to figure out what size of rheostat or pot for this and I will need two of them, one on each motor. I think in involved some resistance calculation etc.
The WSN chassis and the KV-1 chassis is probably one of the best ones. They are basically indestructible. I have converted them to SU-100 and SU-152 respectively.

Hmmm.... I was afraid of that. The volume control would be too light for this application. Tell you what Michael I will splice one of the ones I have into my panther for fun and see if it works. I am thinking I wouldn't put individual ones on each motor you will never be able to calibrate them exactly the same?

Dean, I think you have to since turning would involved power going to one of the two motors and if you have one rheostat for both motors they would both get power, no ?

Ah yes, you are right. You will need one for each motor. I guess you will have to just get it as close to sync as possible and do little steering corrections as I can guarantee one side will run a little faster than the other. Of course this will only effect if you are trying to drive a perfectly straight line over some distance and when would we do that! LOL!
I will try the rheostats I have from the scooters on my Panther tonight just to see if it works. Will let you know!
