question is,can you heat these to make dents etc ?

in a way yes you can.....
1. get a bowl of boiling water and drop them in...the outer mass of the barrel will become soft but the core will stay hard as the heat can only penetrate so far.

2. for this you will need a hair dryer...same as above just warm it up and away you go....with this you need to a bit careful not to warm it too much as to make it smell as it can be toxic due to type of resin they are cast in.

personally id go with the water :)

wish i'd known that before i painted them. how hot does the water need to be ? Out the kettle and how long do you leave them in please ?

Great job on the painting :clap:
I think resin will be too tough to heat to make dents etc, I've always bought them with dents pre cast.
Macs do some "distressed " oil drums. but they look too distressed to me :D
I have some unpainted dented ones for sale if you're interested PM me

yes i am interested in the drums. Like your paint job too mate. Your drums look more detailed than macs mouldings, i had to make the lid in the middle of the drum using a single hole punch from work punched through the rim of a yoghurt pot and cut a piece of mcdonald's straw to fit !
