Hello from sunny Stoke

Post by Bigant »

Hey there my names Ant and im from sunny stoke on trent. i discovered this site while looking for info on my latest RC project.. a 1/6th scale tank im sure to have lots of questions as its one that hasn't been done before. hoping to equip it with all the goodys sound smoke lights a paintball marker gun. the tank i have picked is well this one

A Leman russ Executioner from the Warhammer universe. i know its not to everyone's taste. the project came around due to a conversation with a friend about how i wanted to do a 1/6th scale tank and he said why not do a warhammer one. after some chatting we settled on this design as i liked the look of it. the model in the pictures isn't mine just an example of the tank im working on. i have pulled a miniature apart and made myself a little set of drawings for the basic hull/turret shapes and i will soon be making a few small models in plastic card to check how accurate my drawings and things are. im hoping to make the big model from ply then reinforce it with fiberglass. the tracks im still undecided about im sure i wll have alot of questions during my build but i am looking forward to the challenge ahead.

im thinking the tracks are the part thats scaring me most lol although i have discovered a thing called Flat top chain that looks very similar to the original track links. just unsure if i could use it for model tank tracks. so abit more research is needed.
